CR LF line endings

I used the program Processing to edit a IDF file and save as a new file, basically just making a copy and adding some new objects in the format as required by EnergyPlus.

However, when I try to open this new IDF file in IDF editor, I got the following error message:

Unix file format detected.

Please convert the file with a text editor to have CR LF line endings.

May I ask why I have this issue and how to solve it?

Thank you!
