I would like to add top lighting (ideally tubular daylighting devices) to some spaces in my model that have plenum zones separating them from the exterior.
Is there a straight forward way to do this in OpenStudio?
One thing that comes to mind is to make the plenum floors and zone ceilings adiabatic, set the zone ceiling surface boundary condition to outdoors + sun exposed and then stick skylights in the ceiling of the zone (leaving all the air paths between the zones intact).
An alternative might be to put partitions in the plenums to mimic light wells, place a skylight above the partitioned paces and an air wall below.
Would either of these work? what are the largest potential sources of errors with either approach? and (most importantly) is there an easier way? I am open to manipulating the IDF if that would be easier.
