Import floor plan pdf drawings into SketchUp

If floor plan of the building is available in pdf format, is there an easy approach to import that into SketchUp? Pdf can first be converted into image format (high resolution png, jpg etc. using tools such as Imagemagick), and then imported. But when SketchUp model is created this way, it gets blurry with zoom in/out and creating thermal zone is much difficult as compare to when importing *.dwg into SketchUp.
