ASHRAE 62.1 Ventilation Rate Procedure (VRP) Question

Good morning all!

I've got a quick question in reference to how the minimum ventilation rate is calculated through the ASHRAE 62.1 Ventilation Rate Procedure (VRP).

For the ASHRAE VRP calculation, the calculation is broken up by zones, and these zones must be classified as one type or another. If I have a zone that is actually a combination of rooms/spaces with different uses (e.g. two labs and two offices), how should I classify the zone they comprise in the calculation? As the most stringent (lab) or to average their ventilation requirement (somewhere between lab and office)?

Based on the engineering reference page here, I could not find a definitive answer. I'm coming from Trace 3D Plus which uses EPlus 22.2. Cheers and thanks in advance!
