Hello,

I want to model ventilation that only occurs in the non-heating season in OpenStudio for ideal airloads. For that I have implemented a Design Specification Outdoor Air Object in the Spaces Properties Tab as I assume this to be modeling ideal ventilation (the name is not very self-explanatory). To model the seasonal dependency of the ventilation I have set a schedule (called Ventilation, Non-Heating Season) but no matter what I do the schedule doesnt have any effects on the simulated volume flow associated with the ventilation. The ventilation should be turned off from October to May. What am I missing here?

I believe the answer here is that the ventilation reported by Zone Ventilation is being delivered through a ZoneVentilation:DesignFlowRate object, often used for applying simple ventilation assumptions. This does not take the Design Specification Outdoor Air object as an input at all - that would be fed into your ideal loads system. Air being provided through the ideal loads system (if set up) would be reported in the Zone Mechanical Ventilation outputs.
