Hi there,

I'm getting into energy modeling for my small business and am looking to run some fairly basic BEopt models for things like swapping out windows in small commercial buildings. I've used Mac computers almost exclusively for the past 10+ years and am kinda bummed I apparently need to get a separate PC to run BEopt. (I looked into running Bootcamp on my Mac laptop and it appears to not have enough memory, and I'm also afraid I'd screw something up.)

I haven't been able to find any discussions of system requirements for BEopt, and I also find the specifications on PC laptops difficult to understand in terms of computing speed. I'm worried that if I buy a PC laptop in my preferred price range of 500-1,000 dollars that it won't have enough computing power to adequately run BEopt and will be slow and frustrating.

Any suggestions for a PC laptop or general system parameters to run simple BEopt models without getting bogged down too much? Really appreciate any help and am glad to have found the Unmet Hours community.
