Hello everyone.

I am new to OpenStudio and currently facing a challenge while trying to edit a building model that I imported from Ladybug as a .osm file. Specifically, I'm having trouble enriching the model using the Floor Plan Editor in OpenStudio.

Here's the situation:

  • I successfully imported a building model that includes outer walls, floors, and windows from Ladybug.
  • Now, I want to add room-specific information using the Floor Plan Editor within OpenStudio.

My question is:

Is it possible to continue modeling in OpenStudio after importing a base file from an external resource like Ladybug?

If so, what steps should I follow to achieve this?

@gulce, would you please provide an example of "adding room-specific information using the Floor Plan Editor"? Adding doors? Resizing windows? To the best of my knowledge, direct geometry editing (under Editor/Geometry tabs) is possible only for a native FloorspaceJS representation. I don't think one can import an OSM, convert it to a FloorspaceJS representation, edit it, then regenerate a newer OSM. Indirect geometry editing is possible via Measures (e.g. adding 40% WWR window strips), but this is unrelated to the Editor. Clarify?
