Sensible Heat Gain Summary Hourly
Hi All,
I'm conducting a study on the heating and cooling demand of a building, and I'm using the "sensible heat gain summary" report for it.
My issue is that I need to obtain the values from the "HVAC Zone Eq & Other Sensible Air Heating (W)"column for the entire year. I've been looking at the input/output reference document, but it seems like the variables are outdated, and I can't find the variables I should use in the "output:variable" section to get the same value from this column for each hour of the year.
(I'm using HVACTemplate:Zone:IdealLoadsAirSystem)
EDIT: I am using the "Zone ideal Loads Zone Sensible Heating Rate" output which gives me a maximum value of 4kW compared to the 23kW that appears in "sensible heat gain summary"
Thanks for your attention.
Which variables in the Input/Output Reference seem outdated? I'm looking at the documentation and all of those output variables appear correct to me.
To be clear, I'm looking at the output variables listed here.
Hi showowit,
Thank you for your response.
I'm going to provide some more context: I need to demonstrate with my energy model that there is no heating demand. To verify this value, I am using the "Peak Heating Sensible Heat Gain" table. In this table, it states that I need 23 kW of heating in the column "HVAC Zone Eq % Other Sensible Air Heating" for October 20th at 00:00. I want to determine how many hours per year there is a heating demand and the value for each of these hours.
To do this, I am using the output:variable "Zone Ideal Loads Zone Sensible Heating Rate." The maximum value for the entire year is 4 kW. So, I need to understand which outputs EnergyPlus (EP) uses in the "Peak Heating Sensible Heat Gain" table to show 23 kW instead of 4 kW.
According to the I/O documentation, I understand that the columns are composed of:
If I add these two outputs, the sensible load is 4 kW
However, in the table, it shows 23 kW. So, I suspect that I also need to use the outputs indicated in the documentation for:
These outputs do not appear in my RDD file, so I'm not sure if they are currently named differently.
