I have simulated a building in rhino for energy simulation and i have a .osm file generated from the simulation. There in HVAC system I have used VRF . But I am not getting the details of the COP of VRF system used. So,I tried opening the .osm file generated in openstudio application. But I don't know where to see the COP detail of the VRF system used?

Please help me with this

  • Open the .osm file with a text editor
  • CTRL-F "VariableRefrigerantFlow" ... should point you to the OpenStudio VRF object(s)
  • Take note of the class, e.g. CoilCoolingDXVariableRefrigerantFlow
  • Look up the class in the SDK object index (CTRL-F "VariableRefrigerantFlow" will yield 8 objects)
  • Whatever VRF attribute can be edited via OpenStudio (e.g. performance curves) would be listed.
  • As not all OpenStudio VRF object definitions hold COP, search in the generated IDF (and cross-reference)
