Hello guys,

I am modeling an Air Loop in Open Studio. My air loop just have an Outdoor Air System and a fan that is on/off based.

Does anyone know if it is possible to turn on a fan based on the Thermal Zone temperature (or in any other themperature e.g. outdoor air temperature)?

Picture 1 is how my simple Air Loop looks like.

Air Loop

Thank you all.

You can use Availability Mnager High Temperature Turn On and Availability Manager Low Temperature Turn Off.

It looks like your case doesn't even need an air loop. Another option is Zone Ventilation Design Flow Rate in Thermal Zones tab. You can use it as a Zone Equipment in your designated thermal zone and you can set Minimum Indoor Temperature.

Where shoul I apply these availability managers? Is it in a specific node? I tried to apply it and I got the message "the selected component is not allowed at this location". I tried in all nodes and got this message for each one of them.

For Availability Managers, no sensor is necessary because they apply to the entire Air Loop.
