Input people number in each space

asked 2015-07-17 11:39:43 -0600

updated 2015-07-26 22:17:22 -0600

I am trying to insert people number in each space but it will not allow me. My building has classrooms that change the number of people from one to other. Also the ft2/people is not the same. I duplicate the people definition and input the number of people in the new one. When I try to drag and drop in the space in the new definition it wont let me.

Any ideas how to do it?

Thanks

What about entering schedules that define the numbers of people for each space or zone ? If people move from one zone to another, this can also be described byappropriate corresponding schedules.

When editing individual space loads from the facility tab, you won't be allowed to override the definition of a load from one that's inherited from the space type, such as this people load: image description

However you can insert your unique load by dragging the definition (and schedules) from "My Model" to the "Add New Load" field:

Thanks Eric. I will try adding the additional people in each space as New load

I am hoping to define unique loads for many spaces throughout my building and assumed that a locally defining property would override the inherited property but that doesn't seem to be the case. The area you described in your screenshot above is no longer present. How can I define an occupancy that overrides the space type in a more recent version of OpenStudio (i.e. 2.6.0)?

This is a good and common question! I am with the same problem.

I think you can solution it for a way more easy: dragging one definition into all the spaces with only one person. So you can use the field Multiplier to personalize the number of people to each room. I think this workflow will be add a different number of people to each space.

Can someone confirm if this worflow is correct?

I doing the same. so far is the best way to do it. If you see the space load it say coming soon. I hope in next versions it will be implemented
