How should I go about incorporating BES into a BEopt 2.8 model accurately?

I am trying to find the best way to incorporate BES into my BEopt 2.8 model. I know that the beta 3.0.1 version has BES modeling capabilities, but I am adding new scenarios to an older model and transferring everything over would be time consuming and (because of the SEER2/HSPF2 update) wouldn't be a 1:1 comparison w/ the older outputs.

For context, I have two systems to consider (via FSEC) -

Large Home (1,601 sq. ft. or larger)

  • 2.5 Kw Photovoltaic Array
  • 6 kWh of LiFePo4 battery storage

Small Home (1,600 sq. ft. or smaller)

  • 1.2 Kw Photovoltaic Array
  • 3 kWh of LiFePo4 battery storage

If there isn't a way in 2.8, how can accurate parallels be drawn between 2.8 and 3.0.1 outputs?

Have you found any documentation that explains the sequence of operation of the battery storage for these considerations? The batteries could be operated based on many factors, including limit depth of discharge (DOD), limit max grid import at Point of Common Coupling (PCC) annually, maximize renewables use, minimize economic cost, maximize onsite, etc. These options change the frequency and duration of usage significantly. While these considerations are employed as user-defined criteria in many microgrid tools, I don't anticipate it with BEOpt. Instead, what's a recommended tool for outputs?
