Interaction the surface, some lines will show up split the face into 2 or 3 part. Also confused with that.
After surface match, the entire model rendering turn into white, the openstudio rendering by surface type or boundary condition is not accessible. I tried two times, it can't work.
For anyone having issues with intersecting surfaces in the SketchUp Plugin, you may want to try a surface matching measure already on BCL that we have extended to optionally first perform intersections. In additional to bypassing bugs in SketchUp's intersection method it also has extra logic to split base surfaces as necessary when for example you have a smaller space stacked on top of a bigger space. In the example shown the SketchUp plugin would have resulting in the lower space having a sub-surface below the second space instead of a new base surface.
Below is a before and after screenshot using the measure. You would generally use this measure by using "Apply Measures Now" in the OpenStudio application. While you can't use this measure in the plugin you can open the model in the application to run the measure, and then re-load the model in the plugin.

Hey David, I am having issues with sketchup and intersecting my model (7 story building with varying floor geometry). I downloaded the measure file from the site, which is an open studio file. However I cannot open it, can you tell me the steps to use this measure tool on my model.
this link has screenshots of measures being used in Pat, but you can also use them in the OpenStudio application. They are not for use in the SketchUp plugin. If you download an OSM with the measure, it was just a test model. Here is a video on Apply Measures now.
It really help a lot for me. Recently I spent 4 hours match surface manually every day. However, when I applied the measure, many slash emerged in my model. I was wondering if it will damage the accuracy of heat transfer between surfaces. Here is a image.link text
There are some cases where the intersect methods used in the SketchUp plug-in cause some bad geometry to be created. In some cases (e.g. two identical surfaces are created) the OpenStudio plug-in may experience an error and stop working. If you see a good model turn white this has likely happened and you should quit SketchUp immediately, don't save your OSM. If you have the Ruby console open when you do the intersect you may see some debugging output regarding the exact error.
I would suggest that you try to perform surface intersection by hand for any problem spaces then run the model wide intersection method. Surface matching does not create or edit geometry so that is pretty safe to run.

@gide87. There was a previous question about white surfaces in OpenStudio? Just type the word 'surface' in the search bar and you will see it. Do the answers to that question solve your problem?
