Multiple Instances of EnergyPlus [closed]
Does anyone know if there are issues with running multiple instances of EnergyPlus simultaneously on the same computer (i.e., memory or directory conflicts)?
@fjdoyle2002 are you asking about using the same version of EnergyPlus for multiple parallel simulations, or using multiple EnergyPlus versions simultaneously? As @ericmartinpe pointed out in his answer, it is fine to have multiple EnergyPlus versions installed and running in parallel.
I'm asking in context of parallel simulations, examining predicted effects of various control changes, using one version of EP. If that is an issue, would separate installs (obviously, in different directories) of the same version alleviate the problem?
@fjdoyle2002 thanks for clarifying. Does this post and/or this post answer your question about using Python to achieve this? You can also search for "energyplus parallel" or similar to find other posts that would be more helpful.
Ahh, yes thanks. For some reason, searching parallel didn't occur to me as I would have assumed that was likely more geared toward parallelization of internal code for multiprocessing, not parallel simulations. Thank you again for the help.
