Hello everyone, I am trying to find out if there are pre-built Domestic Hot Water schedules for Office Buildings in OpenStudio. I can't find any schedules in the included libraries. I can see I need to first create a load in the Loads section (or in the HVAC System tab) but then I do not know where the actual fraction schedule is. Or even if there is one. To create one on my own seems quite arbitrary. And although I might be able to guess some things (hand washing before/after lunch). I need the schedules for Office Buildings because for the residential I could still utilise DHWCalc in the end.

So I suppose the question is whether are pre-built fractional schedules in OpenStudio or where I would be able to find them.

I realise it is quite a silly question, but I have been going through the included libraries and I couldn't find any. Thank you very much for your help! I wish you all a great day!

Regards, Luca Casamassima.

You can always look up the schedules used in OpenStudio-Standards (i.e. US-DOE prototype buildings). For instance, search here for:

  • "OfficeLarge BLDG_SWH_SCH"
  • "OfficeLarge SHWSys1 Water Heater Ambient Temperature Schedule"
  • "OfficeLarge SHWSys1 Water Heater Setpoint Temperature Schedule"
  • "OfficeLarge SHWSys1-Loop-Temp-Schedule"

You can find additional (nominal) information here (e.g. 90.1 2004, IP units).
