It has been a while since I used Open Studio for the last time.

Hello all,

Hope everything is fine with yall.

I know now Open Studio has implemented several changes and I looked for question similar to this one and could not find it specifically.

I remmeber I used to use a lot Results Viwerer for results analysis but now I cannot open it anymore.

My intent is to open two or several output variable grah at once and compare then to see pasible causes of Unmet Cooling Hours.

Is there anything I am missing on how to open those graphs?

Thanks a lot

@lrebello from this post, ResultsViewer was part of the OpenStudio application (OS app) up to v2.1 in 2017. After that, DView has been part of the OS app as the time-series plotting tool. You can read more about installing DView in this post.

DView doesn't plot illuminance maps for lighting studies, so this post discusses how to download ResultsViewer from older OS app installers to create illuminance maps.

Does that answer your question?

Hello @Aaron Boranian. It did answer my question in part. I was used to open .sql files in Results Viewer and it was really fast. I tried to open .sql file (4 Gb) on Data Viewer and it is tring to open for more than 4 hours.

Any piece advice regarding this issue?

Thanks a lot!

@lrebello you can still use Results Viewer to open SQL files directly, which isn't as convenient as having the "Open Detailed Reports" button in the OS app. So, the steps would be:

  1. Open Results Viewer
  2. File => Open
  3. Browse for the SQL file of your simulation (should be in the run folder of the folder with the same name as your model or OSM file)

If that still doesn't work, you could also try the timestep tool to open and plot SQL data. Again, open the SQL file in timestep directly instead of in the OS app.

Hello @aaron.

Where ir this "open Detailed Reports" button located in OS app?

Either Results Viewer and DViewer are taking several hours to open (and sometimes does not open) the SQL file.

I will try the "timestep tool" as you mentioned and I will let you know if it works.

Many thanks!
