Is it possible to open existing CBECC-Com model in Sketchup OpenStudio Plugin?

I have an existing CBECC-Com model that was created with the IESVE plugin, but has convex surfaces errors. I think it would be easier to split these surfaces in SketchUp, but when I try to import the SDD XML file created by IES or CBECC-Com, SketchUp/OpenStudio gives me a generic error saying it can't open the file. I seem to be able to open the osm file that CBECC-Com creates for the propsed and baseline runs, but I don't think that helps me.

I know that I can split up the spaces directly in IESVE, but the search for non-convex surfaces in the OpenStudio SketchUp plugin makes it easier.

Latest version of everything but free sketchup (so I belive OS 1.7, SU 2015, and CBECC v3b), though since I started in IES it was technically in CBECC-Com v3, but I had no problem opening the IES generated xml in the latest version of CBECC-Com directly, but I couldn't get either of those to open in SketchUp.

Which version of OpenStudio and which version of CBECC-Com are you using? Also, are you able to open the SDD XML file in CBECC-Com itself?

I did notice that the files created by CBECC-Com that is appended with "post open" does seem to come throughs omewhat into Sketchup, though most of the windows don't come through.

The relationship between OpenStudio and CBECC-Com is a little complicated, we need to write up a better description of it but I'll give an overview here. OpenStudio can export an Input SDD XML file. This can be opened in CBECC-Com where all additional details are added. Once the Input SDD is complete, the rules are run on the file and CBECC-Com produces a series of Sim SDD XML files, each file corresponds to an energy simulation. OpenStudio can import these Sim SDD files to produce OpenStudio models for simulation. However, OpenStudio cannot import an Input SDD file. Furthermore, the OpenStudio import of a Sim SDD file does not bring along non-simulation, Input SDD content. Therefore, you cannot currently jump back and forth between OpenStudio and CBECC-Com using the SDD file. It would be good if the CBECC-Com team could link to a diagram explaining the process and transformation between various SDD file formats.

Thanks Dan, that makes sense, and I agree it would be useful if you could go back and fourth since there is no free geometry editor that can be used to edit an existing model (at least that's my interpretation of what you are saying).

We have proposed a merge tool that would allow you to merge geometry changes and exported to Input SDD with another Input SDD that you are working with in CBECC-Com. I believe this is on the CBECC-Com roadmap but I do not know when it is planned for release.

Expanding upon what has been said. Have there been advances on this topic? Do anyone know if CBECC-22 (or CBECC-Com) xml files can file be "translated" to gbxml format?
