Has anyone had any luck in using the Create Baseline Building measure? I am trying to run it on a random (proposed) building and am receiving hundreds of Warnings about all kinds of things not being found, though the measure does run to completion. Most warnings are of the following type:

Warning: Space type properties lookup failed: {"template"=>"90.1-2013","building_type"=>nil,"space_type"=>nil}

I am (randomly) selecting a SmallOffice in climate zone 2A when the measure first starts up, just to select something. When the measure is done, new AirLoopHVACs have appeared, and some Schedules have been added, but constructions and loads appear to be untouched?

I suspect the proposed building has to be set up in a particular way for this measure to work properly? I was trying to find openstudio-standards documentation to find out what that set-up might need to be, but no luck thus far.

The warning messages show that the issue is because of the missing standardSpaceType and standardBuildingType values. The way to solve this is to add standard space types and standard building types in osm files from GUI or text editor.

After that, the constructions and loads should be linked to the buildings and spaces.

If anyone created the template osm file, can you share it please? Thanks

Thank you kindly, great insight! I tend to keep my OSM files as lean as possible, so I delete any space types not needed. So for example, my proposed building OSM may only have space types "Client-Office" and "Client-Restroom". Does the Standards Space Type for these have to be another complete space type within the OSM file then, or is it sufficient to just make this a string that matches the desired baseline standard? What if the drop-down does not show anything? How do I give it a string then? Can I then populate the strings with a simple measure?

... and if they are just strings, I assume the Create Baseline Building measure will create the actual space types?

@mattkoch You have the flexibility to create your own space types by following the requirements in 90.1 Appendix G. By the way, our PNNL team is working on 90.1-2019 PRM (https://github.com/NREL/openstudio-st...), which may also be relevant to your work (The Create Baseline Building measure will be updated). In the new one, users should have the flexibility to select space types from other building types. It will be released this October.

@wassimj There are several measures, which are able to generate building models (osm files). Please see https://www.energy.gov/eere/buildings....
