Electrical consumption for DHW way too high
I input a water heater stratified for DHW in my model wich represent a 66 m2 appartement with one room. My heating loads seems alright (around 3-4 GJ in total) but for some reason my water consumption is up the roof. I put a faucet and a shower at a peak rate of 0.000158 m3/s with a schedule for these equipement define in EnergyPlus examples. I have a electricity consumption of 42 GJ for the water heater wich seem way too big. I tried many differents things, but i dont how i can correct this. Can someone help me please ?
You should post the input file idf, or at least give more information about the DHW heater. You should be able to sum the volume of water heated by the water heater and calculate the total energy required to heat that water to your HW set point. Then divide by a reasonable COP and compare to the DHW heater energy use. That will give you more information to help you identify what is wrong.
