Hello,

I've some doubt about the Heating system COP and the Cooling system COP in HVAC tab. I need to insert SCOP and SEER respectively here? Or which values I need to insert here?

Thanks in advance, best regards

The inputs here are those required by EnergyPlus, so the efficiency you specify need to be consistent with EnergyPlus's requirements. Although the EnergyPlus input names don't say they are "seasonal" efficiencies, they are. The values you input represent the total seasonal efficiency of the entire heating and/or cooling systems. I would suggest you review the definitions of the efficiencies in this DesignBuilder help page: https://designbuilder.co.uk/helpv7.0/.... If you are a DesignBuilder customer and anything is not clear or you need further information, I would suggest you contact our support desk here: https://support.designbuilder.co.uk/

Yes, I saw the help and I have also contacted the support desk (they only shown me the help without any other clarification). My doubt is if I use a split system these efficency are the SCOP and SEER which are in the datasheet or I need to calc them with some specific method?

Different countries and regions have different ways of defining and calculating efficiencies. If the definition being used in your local region differs from the EnergyPlus definition you will need to understand the impact of that difference (for example, does one include auxiliary fan energy and the other exclude it) and then manually calculate the adjusted efficiency to use for your simulation. If you are modelling for code compliance you will need to retain your calculations as supporting evidence. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the clarification, If can be useful in future, I have contacted the italian support and they confirmed that in Italy is correct, in the case of the split system, to use SCOP and SEER.
