Hello everyone. I am using OpenStudio and I am applying the adaptive thermal comfort from ASHRAE 55. First, I selected this model in the “People definition” in the “Loads” tab, and then, I chose in the “output variables” tab the variables related to this thermal comfort model, such as “Zone thermal comfort ASHRAE 55 adaptive model 80% acceptability status”, “Zone thermal comfort ASHRAE 55 adaptive model 90% acceptability status”, Zone thermal comfort ASHRAE 55 adaptive model running average outdoor air temperature”, and “Zone thermal comfort ASHRAE 55 adaptive model temperature”.

When I run the model, I can appreciate in the DVIEW time series graph, the running average outdoor air temperature and the adaptative model temperature. However, I couldn’t find the 80% o 90% acceptability status, which according to the energy plus’s reference document, it can have a value of 1, 0, or -1. I have looked for this results in other places, since I think it could be associated to a csv file, but I haven’t able to find it.

Searching in the “Energy Plus results” and in the “Adaptive comfort summary” I found that my model have a “0” for “time not meeting the adaptive comfort model during occupied hours”. However, it is appreciable in the time series graph that for some hours in a day the operative temperature is out from the range of +/-3.5°C from the “adaptive model temperature”. I don’t know if I am doing something wrong to get no hour out of the adaptative comfort model and I would like to know where I can find results from the acceptability status.

I greatly appreciate any help about it.

@MaRe what reporting frequency did you set for these output variables in the OS Application? That will affect what tab in DView you use to plot them. You can refer to this post for more details.

Thanks Aaron for your comment. I had a look in my model's "simulation settings" tab finding that for "Timestep", it has 6 for timestep per hour, and for the "output variables" tab, I had "hour" as the reporting frecuenty for all the variables related to the adaptive thermal comfort model, but I changed it to "timestep". However, in Dview, I still don't see the acceptability status results, using "time series", "hourly", or "daily". I wander if the acceptability status isn't a result to appreciate in dview but in a csv file.
