I am a new user, and I have an issue where the JSON file automatically "changes" when I merge to OSM. This creates an issue where I cannot go back and edit the geometry in 2D.

It seems that once I merge the Floorplan with the OSM is corrupts the corresponding JSON file, so I cannot go back and edit the geometry.

I looked at the JSON file before and after the merge to OSM (It is located within the correct folder) The JSON file after the merge only has 20% of the data of the JSON file before the merge.

Any ideas how to resolve this issue?

UPDATE

Okay I attached the two JSON pics files, its a simple house model I built.

I was able to edit the vertices in the spaces tab so no longer need help with this build

When I view the non-corrupted JSON in OS or web it still has all the geometry I built.

C:\fakepath\floorplan non corrupt.PNG

There had been some windows users who would have the JSON file disappear, but you are describing something different which I have not seen. Can you update the post with the version of OpenStudio Application you are using and your computer operating system. I'm also wondering if the OSM appeared to be made cleanly or was there something un-expected (other than the altered JSON file. Lastly, if you take the modified JSON file and load it at this link do you see your expected floor plans? https://nrel.github.io/floorspace.js/

Thanks David

I am using Windows 10 Home version 21H2 Build 19044.1526

And using OpenStudio verson 1.2.1.0

When I load the "corrupted" JSON file into the Floorspacejs web browser it appears to be a brand new floorplan with one story and no spaces. This is consistent with what is showing up in the Openstudio Editor.

Also, when I place a "non-corrupted" JSON backup file in the folder with my current OSM project, and check the editor - I still see the empty project with one story and no spaces.

@bpuskas12 and when you take the non-corrupted back JSON file to the web interface, I assume it looks fine and has spaces.

Would it be possible to share the JSON and OSM before the merge so we could try to reproduce? I filed this bug, we can continue the discussion there: https://github.com/openstudiocoalitio...
