hello lovely folks,

For context, I am a college mechanical engineering student using OpenSTudio for a class project. I am using VirtualPulse (as instructed by my professor) and opened the OSM file I saved in OpenStudio (which I am not sure was correct?) Anyway, it should cover all of the HVAC systems, the building geometry, and most other aspects of OpenStudio. After that, I loaded in a AMY file and set the year to match the year of the file (2017). My simulation keeps failing and I have no idea why. I opened the error file in an IDE (Spyder) and it says that there is a Missing Required Property: Outside Layer as well as a warning about "Node Connections not checked".

When I tried loading in the IDF version of the VirtualPulse file, I was given an error that said I needed to update the file from EnergyPlus 9.2 to 9.5, so also if anybody knows how to download or access the IDFVersionUpdater that could help me get it running as well.

Does anybody know if I did anything wrong with my approach or how to resolve this error so I can run the simulation? I don't know where to input the missing required property. Any feedback or questions are welcome, I paid attention/took notes in class and have watched lots of youtube tutorials but cannot find much about how to address errors (particularly this one), and my TA reccommended asking on this forum as they had never run into this issue.

Best, A frazzled student

Hey I figured it out! I just went from the beginning with my TA and realized I had not added the DDY file. Hopefully this can help someone like me!
