Hello,

I don't know if this is related to this site. Does anyone know how long it will take to update the new BCL website? Search, login, browse components, etc none of them are working right now.

Thanks.

The BCL has been streamlined to focus on programmatic workflows. For most users we recommend using an interface such as the OpenStudio Application or the Parametric Analysis Tool to interact with BCL content. You can still search and download in the browser, but the faceted search functionality and browsing is no longer available. Please refer to the Documentation page (https://bcl.nrel.gov/documentation#ex...) for example queries that can be used to search and download content in the browser.

BCL is now linked to public GitHub.com repositories that are summarized on the dashboard. This supports version control of measures and components and more collaborative development and maintenance. Users and developers can contribute to existing linked repositories, or can create new repositories and connect them to BCL.

This should be pretty seamless for those who access content through applications that use the API already but may take some adjustment for people who relied on the web interface.

Looks like new users can't register to get the BCL key. Is there a way for new users to register for BCL key?

@asanjeevi the new BCL doesn't have a user login and doesn't require a BCL key. Some applications like the OpenStudio Application and PAT, until they are updated expect a key, even though they key hasn't been used for a while. This post shows you how to define a place holder key of the right length.
