Hello. I am studing Openstudio software following the "Building Energy Modeling with OpenStudio" guide. After try different exercices (checkpoints) by myself, I wanted to compare them with the files provided with the PDF guide´s version.

Once I open these files that I downloaded:

  • In the Geometry tab,I can not access to the floorspace (can see the 3Dview, but when I try with the editor, it is not possible)

  • The results tab only provides the "Energy Plus results" report, not the Openstudio report.

Could it be because the original files´ Openstudio version was 2.2.0 and I am using the 3.2.0? Is it there something I am missing?

Answers are more than welcomed ;)

Thanks in advance.

Hi. I feel I found why this happens (but maybe I am wrong). When you open an in.osm file from the run folder generated with any OpenStudio file, this file do not provide access to the floorplan editor or to the openstudio reports (only to the energyplus reports).

Therefore, the osm files shared with the online version of the book could be in.osm files originally.

It does not solve my original issue (I wanted to access to the floorplan and to the openstudio reports and check them), but perhaps this info could be usefull to someone having the same question.
