Service Hot Water & Relating Parameters
For example, I was given the needed hot water flow rate, the rated power of water heater, and the schedule of water usage. Where should I put or transform these parameter into OS? I'm testing for such situation, and has met troubles. No matter how I changed the Flow Rate Fraction Schedule Name for Water Use Equipment, the Water Usage (m3) did change, but the End Use of Water System (kWh) just won't change. I realized that OpenStudio might need to set the values for energy consumption & used water flow rate separately, but logically if I change the water usage schedule, the needed hot water volume will change and so does the energy consumption. Can anyone tell me a clear logic of how the energy consumption and water usage will change along relating inputs in the OS? Thanks for response.
What type of E + water heater object are you using? What appears in your IDF?
600 gal Water Heater - 600 kBtu/hr This is the heater I used in OS. I'm not quite sure what's going on in E+...
