I've tried to open newly installed openstudio on my laptop. But each time OS shuts down at the start up before even opening the main window. I tried to install the OS extension using extension manager, but this also caused the sketchup to crash. Is there any one-on-one help possibility to help me with this issue? I tried reinstallation of OS but it did not help.!

@Houri so both the OpenStudio Application (user interface) AND the OpenStudio SketchUp plugin are crashing? Did you follow the installation steps here?

Yes I tried, And I have both installed in another system and both work well. But in my new system the have issues. Just as a note: I deleted the library to solve an issue upon the recommendation from this website to fix an issue in OS. Since then I had issues. I copied and pasted the library in to directory also reinstalled both sketchup and OS so not sure if this is the issue or not?!

Are you in a remote desktop session? Sketchup doesn't support opening the application while in a remote desktop session, although you can open the application before starting the session.

Thank you for the reply. I am not actually sure how if I am working in remote desktop session or not. And also how can I stop this to make Sketchup support the OS. I added a picture to show the way OS is shown in Sketchup extension manager. When I change the "disabled" to "enabled" and click on "apply changes", Sketchup crushes.

Never mind about my idea since I no longer think it applies. You must not be in a remote session since your screenshot tells me that you were able to at least open the SketchUp application.

Which Operating system are you using? (eg: Windows 10 20H2, macOS 11.2, Ubuntu 18.04)

Can you try clearing the OpenStudio directory "OpenStudioDir": "", in your SketchUp preferences file

This should prompt you to choose the OpenStudio directory next time you load the plugin. You can then choose a correct version for your version of SketchUp (SU 2019-2020 -> OS App 1.1.0 or 1.1.1, SU 2021 -> OS App 1.2.0 you can use a release candidate for now before 1.2.0 is out).

I fixed this bug (getting stuck crashing) in OS SketchUp Plug-in 1.2.0

My SketchUp is 2017, is there any way to get it work with the OS or I have to buy the 2020 version?

With Sketchip 2017, the last version you can use is v2.9.1. cf https://github.com/NREL/OpenStudio/wi...
