Zone Air Temperature for timestep
How can I calculate Zone Air Temperature for Timestep ? In the variable tab I am assigning the variable for timestep whicn I have set to 4 but still I am getting the data on hourly basis not for timestep. How can I get certain variable for timestep for which we do not have a meter like occupant density, mean air temperature etc ?
To the first part of your question: In principle, if you selected "Zone Air Temperature, " with TimeStep, your generated ESO file should hold TimeStep data (I sometimes see Hourly data there as well - not sure why). It should go without saying that TimeStep vs Hourly data would not be reported at the same frequency in the ESO file.
To the second part of your question: you should be able to report other output variables e.g., Zone Mean Air Temperature, Zone Mean Radiant Temperature (just like Zone Air Temperature). Navigating the (long) list of possible options (under the Output Variables tab) can be cumbersome if uncertain of its exact identifier. Variables like Zone People Occupant Count would be reported hourly.
How can I get the Mean Air temperature reported for every 15 minutes then?
Open your OSM, select Zone Mean Air Temperature in OpenStudio's Output Variables tab, and select TimeStep as reporting frequency. My comment on the occupant count was only there to underline that certain variables may only be available at certain frequencies (like hourly).
That is what I am saying whatever I select I am getting the data for hourly format even after selecting timestep as the frequency.
