If you already have a .dsb file (DesignBuilder input file), you could get a 30-day free evaluation license from DesignBuilder. This is a short-term solution, but it will allow you to export the IDF file to use in co-simulation with Matlab.

UPDATE

To add more details about the evaluation license, the bottom of the link I provided mentions the following:

Note you have to first uninstall any other version of DesignBuilder you already have on your computer - this is done from Control Panel > Programs and Features. If you have an existing v6 evaluation license, from the beta test period, you will need to clear that by clicking Reset in the License Manager before you will be able to request a new evaluation code.

There is also a link on that page to restrictions with using an evaluation license, which mentions that "EnergyPlus IDF data is harder to read" so I assume that you can export the IDF as long as you don't fall under the other restrictions.

i already have the .dsb file but i need to activate the option ( export Energy Plus) from File menu to have the .idf file because MATLAB don't deal with .dsb . is there any way to activate this option through the evaluation license or i have to buy the license ??

@islam The answer in that post that you linked to states that evaluation licenses do not allow IDF export. It appears that you will need to purchase a license to export an IDF.

If that other post answers your question, I will close this post.
