Updating an extension version (SketchUp/OpentStudio) when it incorrectly claims it is the most up to date version
Hello, Sketchup randomly started using an older version of Openstudio (2.9) I have openstudio 3.1 on my computer and I select extenstions → openstudio → check for update: it incorrectly states that I am using the most recent version of openstudio. Does anyone have any advice for activating openstudio 3.1 and deactivating 2.9?
@CullerWhale if you have OpenStudio 3.1 that is only the version of the SDK. There is a separate process to install the latest OpenStudio Extension for SketchUp. You can follow instructions for that under the Optional - Download and install SketchUp and the Openstudio SketchUp Plug-in section of the Installation and Introductory Tutorial page of the OpenStudio Coalition User Docs.
This post provides more information. Does that answer your question?
@macumber did the OpenStudio SketchUp Plug-In change the URL that it uses to check for updates? If a user has v2.9 installed from NREL (Oct 2019), it makes sense to notify the user that the latest v1.1 from OpenStudio Coalition is available.
Yes, the new OpenStudio Application and SketchUp Plug-in check the GitHub releases for the OpenStudio Coalition. That would mean that 2.9.x users would not see that there are updates available. It's possible that someone at NREL (@David Goldwasser) could update the URL that we used to check to show a new version is available. I don't know if they are still using that for updates to the OS SDK
This is the URL used for 2.9.1:
