No Heating/Cooling Results after selecting Ideal Air Loads

asked 4 years ago

Hi,

It would be my great pleasure if anyone could assist me with my question- while supposedly it happens due to a simple mistake!

The problem is that I'm getting zero heating/cooling loads for my office building model after I turn on ideal loads in the Thermal Zones section of OpenStudio (no HVAC system is selected):

However, I'm getting district Heating and cooling loads in my result file unintentionally. In other words, I'm not sure what mistake caused this issue that OpenStudio is providing me district results rather than heating/cooling loads.

Thanks!

As per the ideal load system documentation:

“The energy required to condition the supply air is metered and reported as DistrictHeating and DistrictCooling.“

Thanks! That's true. But I do not need to have the energy reported as ditrctHeating/Cooling. Could you please let me know what should I change in my OS model?

@Mohammad Where would you like it to be reported? Elecricity? Natural Gas? Obviously this would have no meaning, so having energy consumption under District Heating / Cooling when performing simulations with Ideal Load Air System it is a it's totally reasonable convention (In fact, using IdealLoadAirSystem you do not specify how you produce and distribute hot and cold)
