Effect of pre-cooling on room air conditioner cooling:electricity

Hello, I am trying to model a simple air conditioning system for a bedroom in energy plus. I have used HVACTemplate:System:UnitaryHeatPump:AirToAir. I am trying to analyze the effect of pre-cooling assuming that the exhaust fan running for an hour before turning on the air conditioner would give a significant reduction in cooling:electricity. i have used ZoneVentilation:DesignFlowRate keeping ventilation Type as Exhaust. Results for summer month however showed a significant increment in cooling:electricity with usage of exhaust fan even though there was 2 deg drop in temperature at the time of AC operation in the case in which exhaust fan was running for an hour. Results for winter month showed positive results in the same case I.e reduction in cooling:electricity because of pre cooling. Noticing the change in relative humidity because of exhaust fan I tried to change the humidifier settings in HVACTemplate by keeping Humidifier Availability as always off and giving unrealistic humidifier setpoint as 99. But these changes didn't show any change in the results. Can anyone please suggest what I need to change so that I have a simple cooling system that only considers that drop in air temperature because of pre-cooling and does not get affected because of RH.
