Can I get a report of airflow for individual spaces/rooms?

Rather than just obtaining an airflow for each thermal zone, I would like to get a report on supply airflow for each separate space (room) within each zone. For example if there are multiple rooms within a zone, to be able to determine the supply airflow to each room (not just the whole zone).

In TRACE 700 there is a Room Checksums report that gives this information. It's also obtainable with TRACE 3D-Plus and Carrier HAPS. However I need to get this info from OpenStudio to be able to use it for our normal design purposes.

I'm a new user, so apologies if this is obvious or answered elsewhere. I have searched without success.

In OpenStudio you can assign each room to its own thermal zone or you can assign multiple rooms to a zone. In the first case the airflow per zone is the same as airflow per space. In the second case, we don't really know where within the zones the terminals and return air are that would impact this. If you just want to do simple approximation could look at the total zone airflow and total zone volume. Then divide that up for each space based on its volume, and report that for each space. You could improve this by first account for zone vent design flow rate as a min and then divide the rest.

Thank you for the well-explained reply. Unfortunately, I was afraid that this was the case. It makes assigning supply airflow to each room a bit of a guess.

Does anyone know how Trace 3D-plus deals with this? As far as I know, it uses the same E-plus engine but reports supply airflow rates for individual rooms. Is it just guessing (based on relative room volume or loads), or is there some kind of sub-zoning "finickery" that Trane has written into their code?

In any case, looks like OpenStudio can't quite do that yet.
