Question about load in residential building

Hello everyone, I hope you are all in good health.

I have a simple question because I'm not sure I understand this correctly. In the residential building model, a load is defined as: IECC_Adj , can someone elaborate on what physical equipment is this load counting for.

@Aly ElHefny what simulation tool are you using? Where did you get the input file for the residential building model?

Hello Aaron, I hope you are well. This load is in the prototypical single family residential building model. The simulation setup is energyplus fmus simulating along with other models. And this load appears in the internal gains of the idf file of the prototypical building.

This refers to an "IECC adjustment factor" that represents an additional miscellaneous load component. The International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) provides limited guidance on internal gains requirements. The equipment loads and corresponding schedules of the PNNL residential prototype building model were considered to closely match the Building America (BA) Research Benchmark. This Adjustment factor component (IECC_Adj) is added to account for the difference found between the internal gains specified by the IECC and the internal gains (sum of equipment and lighting) from the BA benchmark.
