I intend to simulate a data center in Openstudio and EnergyPlus. I divided 4 zones in data center for processing air.

Zone 1 (heating): when servers heating it will create heat and hot air will come through Zone 1(how do we define loads and thermal in this zone).

Zone 2 (buffering): returned air will exhaust and buffer to mixing zone (buffered air = alpha * returned air).

Zone 3 (cooling and mixing): outdoor air will be cooled by CRAR before (if it properties are accepted) and mixed with buffered air to create supply air for cooling servers.

Zone 4: supply air will come for cooling servers.

I have not known how to create air loops in HVAC Systems, define input air, limit temperature and humidity in each zone for my simulation and I already divided 4 zones for model in SketchUp (using OpenStudio plugin).

Please help me to solve this problems. Should I create it in OpenStudio or create idf file for EnergyPlus.

Thank you very much.

@tri.ton99 have you already reviewed the Getting Started documentation online for the OpenStudio Application?

Hi @Aaron Boranian i have read the Getting Started documentation online. I confuse that Air Loop1 (for my zone 1) should have which components to describe the servers heating, returned air and in the demand side i just add zone 1, right? The Air Loop 2 (for my zone 2) which components (like dampers) i can use to divide returned air to exhaust air (can I add which component to exhaust it) and buffered air. The Air Loop 3 for mixing I use AirLoopHVACOutdoorAirSystem (only 1 component), right? Should I use something else because I did not see where i can define air input (outdoor and buffered air

And for the CRAC that i need for cooling buffered air, can I use cooling coil or which component can control the temperature output air.

Sorry for my questions and Thanks for your answers.
