i've modeled a zone through Design Builder and exported it as an IDF file. I can only check the co2 and fan elec on .ESO file via Energy Plus result viewer. At this point which tool should I use for optimization. I'm thinking about genopt or jEplus. After picking one, what proceduere i should follow? my variables will be ventilation rate and occupancy rate I'm new to this and need alot of help, Thanks

I'd say use jEPlus (to define your parametric project and manage simulation runs) and jEPlus+EA (to run multi-objective optimisation). But, of course, I am biased :D

Your goal is not clear. Please expand you description. For example, I don't think you can "optimize" CO2 concentration in an energy model, and CO2 has little to do with fan power in normal situations.

Jupil you are probably speaking about a Demand Controlled Ventilation (DCV) which operates the fan following the room CO2 concentration ? You can modify the contaminant setpoint (here CO2) in DesignBuilder or EnergyPlus, or do a parametric study with GenOpt or jEPlus like quoted above. If you need any example in EnergyPlus look for files with "DCV" in the Example folder.
