Heating and cooling simultaneously based on zone temperature

asked 4 years ago

Is there a way to set up a thermostat that if the temperature of the zone falls below defined temperature heating is turned on, and if it goes above certain temperature cooling is turned on. I only know how to define them separately for multiple months, that is, if heating is turned on then cooling is not an option. But at some days, heat gains during the day require cooling the zone, and during night heating is required. On the other side, on some days I only need heating during the day and during the night. Is there an option to set up heating and cooling on standby and if the temperature falls or rises below or above a certain temperature, appropriate equipment for heating and cooling is turned on?

You can use a ThermostatSetpoint:DualSetpoint to model a thermal zone with simultaneous heating and cooling setpoints. The HVAC system will provide heating, cooling, or neither based on the zone temperature.
