How to make half of the building empty in OpenStudio?

I have a building model and an occupancy schedule but I want to set half of the building empty with the same occupancy schedule. For instance, 100 people are in the half part of the building only. How can I do this? Does setting occupancy limit to 0.5 work?

It could be good to expand your explanation a bit so we know exactly what you want to do. Is the goal to half of the building at typical occupancy and half with no occupants. When you say "half the building is empty" are you just referring to occupants, or also other internal loads, what about conditioning to that half of the building? If you just don't want people in specific zones or spaces, then just remove the people instance object, or assign a fractional schedule with a value of 0. You need to consider what schedule value to use for system sizing.
