I am trying to model DX cooling system with VAV FP boxes and they are water-cooled units. I am trying to model the same but I am unable to connect the Cooling Tower to the DX cooling coils.

How can I model this system set up in Open Studio?

Thanks

@Ranjani are you trying to connect water from the cooling tower to the condenser side of the DX cooling coils (water-cooled DX instead of air-cooled DX)?

Hi @Aaron Boranian yes that is correct. Is there a way to do it? Thanks

I am not sure if you can add DX directly to a VAV box in EnergyPlus, but you could add a ZoneHVAC:WaterToAirHeatPump, which I believe does what you are describing.

If you want it to mimic a VAV box, you could set the fan power of the terminal to zero. You will have to be careful though, because to meet the cooling load in some zones the unit will likely want to recirculate.
