The example that OpenModelica gives itself (Under Fluids.Examples.PumpingSystem) does not work. I tried using the stable and nightly build. Still no luck. I get the following error:

[2] 12:21:23 Translation Error Internal error IndexReduction.pantelidesIndexReduction failed! System is structurally singulare and cannot handled because number of unassigned equations is larger than number of states. Use -d=bltdump to get more information.

[3] 12:21:23 Translation Error post-optimization module replaceHomotopyWithSimplified (initialization) failed.

[4] 12:21:23 Translation Error No system for the symbolic initialization was generated

For some context, I'm trying to get this to work just so I have a model where a prescribed pump works. I have yet to get any model with a Prescribed pump working.

Thanks!

The OpenModelica development team is working on ensuring that OpenModelica fully supports the Buildings library. Not all fluid flow models are working. See https://simulationresearch.lbl.gov/mo... for test coverage.

As another free simulator, you can use JModelica, while still being able to edit the models in OMEdit and saving the files to disk before invoking JModelica.
