Activating HVAC stages via BCVTB
Hi,
Energyplus appears to have some subtleties when it comes to controlling HVAC equipment via EMS based on external load inputs in step-wise simulations, e.g. a unit can be turned OFF when it should be ON but cannot really be turned ON on demand. When it comes to controlling staged equipment, is there an actuator that can be leveraged to activate heating stage 1 or heating stage 2 and similarly for DX cooling? Are Availability Schedule objects viable for this purpose?

Did you ever find a solution to this question? I am attempting to control the stage of a heat pump (or at least the coil's maximum capacity) via a Python Plugin, and I suspect any solution you found may help what I am trying to do. Thanks!
