Hello, I am working with the OpenStudio energetic modeling software. I have already created the building and I have also simulated the reference building. Now, I am trying to simulate the HE1 building and it says I have this error.

** Severe ** <root>[WindowShadingControl][Persianas 30%][fenestration_surfaces][3] - Missing required property 'fenestration_surface_name'**.

The fact is that my model doesn't have any shading control; and if I delete this control (I think I don't need it) it doesn't let me create the HE1 bulding and I need it.

What can I do to correct this error?

Thanks

Welcome Maria, You can start by giving us more information so we get a shot at actually figuring out what going on :) Can should share a link to your OSM file (that'd be easiest)? Or at least snippets of the revel sections? Give us what OpenStudio version you are using? What is this "HE1 building"? What do you want by "It doesn't let me create the HE1 building"?

I don't even know how to share a link to the OSM file.

There is an option in SketchUp, in the SG Save to create an HE1 building. This is used to know the demand of the building, taking all the air loads as ideals. That' what I understood after whatching some tutorials.

I don't know what can I do.

Host it somewhere (google drive, dropbox, wetransfer, gist) and paste a link to the OSM. I don't know what you mean by "Save to create an HE1 building", perhaps other do. What version of OpenStudio do you use by the way?

I use the 2.8.0 version. And about the "HE1 building", HE1 is a document from the spanish goberment that sets some rules about the demand. I'm working with SG Save as well. In the SG Save options, I have the option to create a new file with some different characteristics to now the demand of the building before introducing any HVAC system to it. Extensiones > SG SAVE > Opciones relacionadas con el HE1 > Crea y verifica el edificio del HE1

Here I share my OSM file. https://drive.google.com/drive/folder...

AND THANK YOU FOR TRYING TO HELP ME!

I see, it's a plugin developed by Efinovatic (https://www.efinova.es/energyPlus/#1). @mapascual you probably developed it, could you help out please? (or @ecoeficiente if you have used SG Save before).

Persianas 30% is a shading control that is mandatory to compliance with the Spanish energy buildings regulation. You shouldn't delete it, even if there is no control in your building.

I understand, so what can I do to avoid this error in the simulation?

@Maria I get the same error when I draw SubSurfaces with more than 4 vertices but EnergyPlus doesn't handle it.
