Framing Spacing Affect on BEopt Sim

asked 2020-01-05 08:14:31 -0600

It appears that when wall and roof framing assemblies have their framing spacing changed, the overall building energy use is the same. When I investigated further I found that changing the framing spacing doesn't change the framing assembly R-value. Is it true that the stud spacing is accounted for with the framing factor alone? If so then why is there a stud spacing field? Thanks.

Correct, the stud spacing inputs are meta properties that are not used in the actual energy simulation.
