question about air leakage simulation
EnergyPlus is able to simulate the energy impact of air leakage for air duct. But is seems to have some bug. I simulated constant air system with the AirTerminal: SingleDuct:ConstantVolume:Reheat and set the upsteam leakage fraction (in ZoneHVAC:AirDistributionUnit) to be 0.025. The minimum air supply temperature is 12℃. But the simulated energy consumption of chiller, pump, fan, cooling tower are all zero. The room temperature is totally out of control range. It seems the system is not working at all. when I change the upsteam leakage fraction to 0.001, the simulation result becomes reasonable.
I don't know if I set the wrong parameters or there is some bugs in EnergyPlus. Need some help.
@sharon I'm investigating how to model duct losses in EnergyPlus as well, particularly in attics. Did you ever figure this out?
