How can I remove certain spaces from the 'Part of total floor area' as reported in zone summary using Design-Builder software? I want to remove the staircase block as C:\fakepath\DB query.PNG it's not a part of the registered project?

how did you model the staircases? you could try modeling them as voids to avoid including them in the area calculation

Hi There, it should be possible in DesignBuilder (DB) to remove the area of a zone from your totals by excluding the floor surface area from your total zone floor area. Do this as follows:

  1. With DB open, select your zone on the navigation panel;
  2. Expand the zone and select the Floor element on the Navigation Panel;
  3. On the Model Data tabs on the right hand side of the program window, select the Construction tab;
  4. Expand the Adjacency header. There should be two fields: Adjacency, and a checkbox "Exclude this surface area from total zone floor area"
  5. Check the checkbox "Exclude this surface area from total zone floor area"

After that, try your report again to see if it worked. The above steps are based on DB not being in Learning Mode. You may need to go to Tools | Program Options and uncheck "Learning" checkbox if the above steps do not match your interface. Cheers, Andy
