How do I model complex geometry?

asked 2019-06-10 08:56:29 -0600

I have been trying to teach myself OpenStudio for the past week or so, but am confused on a few of the processes. What is the process for modeling complex geometry? All of the YouTube videos I've watched only show rectangles. My understanding is that E+ cannot handle geometric information beyond a rectangle. I have tried dividing spaces into rectangles but the opening between the spaces is modeled as a wall, which blocks the sun load between the spaces. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated, I'm having a hard time finding a response with Google searches. Thanks

Check out Ladybug tools, a plugin for Rhinoceros - https://www.ladybug.tools/ More specifically, Honeybee is the module you´re after to link Rhino´s advance modelling capabilities to E+ and OS.
