I am a new user of E+. I performed some simulations (using the default setting for most items) and noticed that the default cooling system is district cooling system. I would like to ask

1) how can I check the settings, e.g. COP, of the district cooling system? Can I check the settings by using IDF editor? 2) How can i change to other systems?

Thanks.

District cooling "has" a COP of 1. It mimics the real life scenario where you receive chilled water from a central plant. It basically a constant sink of capacity that you are billed for by the unit of energy. Therefore, you can only specify the maximum capacity of the object, not the performance.

You can replace the District Cooling for a Chiller:ConstantCOP object, but you would also need to create a condenser water loop with a cooling tower. You will connect the Chilled Water Inlet Node Name to the inlet node of the Distric cooling object and the Chilled Water Outlet Node Name to the outlet node of the object.

You can read more about the Chiller:ConstantCOP here.
