I am wondering whether single IDF file can be simulated in a multi-core machine with EnergyPlus engine and how? Comments and suggestions are welcomed.
As far as I know, this is not directly possible.
There are some explorations on how to break a simulation into several simulation periods and running them in parallel, to then joining the results once they are completed. However, I´d be very careful with this approach as it breaks the continuity from one simulation period to the next one, and could affect peak loads.
