I intend to model the required heating and cooling energy of my building based on the thermal comfort thermostat control (ZoneControl : Thermostat: Thermal comfort). The geometry and relevant input data is provided with OpenStudio (OS). As OS does not provide the option of controlling the zone thermostat through thermal comfort models, I want to further manipulate the input with EP Launch and IDF Editor. My questions are:

(1) Does the ZoneControl: Thermostat: Thermal Comfort object in EP work with ideal air loads?

(2) How do I provide the appropriate Thermal Comfort Control Type Schedule input? Do I need to create an additional schedule? If yes, what type of schedule is this (e.g. fractional)?

I checked the EP input output reference and after a few attempts with the simulation I got stuck, as my input was incorrect and it terminated. The usual workflow of resolving input errors did not work this time. So the main object of this question is to get some feedback of somebody, who is familiar with modeling the zone thermostat based on thermal comfort models in EP.

In the EnergyPlusVn-m-0\ExamplesFiles folder, there are two files that index all of the example files. ExampleFiles.html and ExampleFiles-ObjectsLink.html. The objectslink file lists every EnergyPlus object type and the first few example files which use it. ZoneControl:Thermostat:ThermalComfort points to example file FurnaceWithDXSystemComfortControl.idf.

I cannot say that I have actually tried it, but this thermostat type should work with ZoneHVAC:IdealLoadsAirSystem.
