Electricity peak demand

Hi. I´m modeling an office building and I have a question about the electricity peak demand. When I include a water boiler that works with electricity in the HVAC system, the electricity peak demand for interior lighting and interior equipment is reduced by up to 90% during wintertime. It is good to point out that for these two loads I am working with constant schedules throughout the year. But when I change the fuel type of the boiler from electricity to natural gas, the problem is solved. Does anybody know why it happens? Because I need that the whole HVAC system to work with electricity. Thanks!

Of course lighting should not be affected by boiler operation. How are you determining that lighting power is changing with boiler operation? Looking at html file? Looking at csv file? I can't say if this is a bug or misinterpretation of the output unless I could see the input file.

I am looking at the Result Summary with OpenStudio Results, in the section Monthly Overview.

So is it EnergyPlus or OpenStudio? I would still need to look at the model.Can you send the EnergyPlus input file (idf) to EnergyPlus-Support@gard.com ?

Are you looking at the breakdown during peak? It is possible that the time of the peak demand has changed from daytime to night or some other time that the lights are not extensively used.
